SJS Archives
The SJS has been around, in some form of student government, since 1938. The organization has a rich and unique history that helps tell the stories of SJU during their respective time periods. The purpose of the SJS archives is to help us understand our history, and why the organization has developed to what it is today.
Check out the SJU Archives to find more information on the SJS, or more information about Saint Ben's and Saint John's history!

The Vice President position was the most recent addition to the Executive Board of the Saint John's Senate. According to the Dec. 8, 2005 Record, page 2 (“Senators elected to new positions”), the vice presidency was new at that time, when there was a referendum to create the position. The Nov. 10 issue, page 7, has a full-page SJS ad that says that the term extension proposal would allow the SJS to “create a Vice President position to increase successful accountability and goal-setting by the SJS.”
