Concert series "Sunset Stages at Saint Ben’s” continues this weekend

This weekend, the CSB/SJU Fine Arts Series continues its four-part  "Sunset Stages at Saint Ben's" outdoor concert series at  the Darnall Amphitheater at the College of Saint Benedict.

The first concert was July 10 and featured Theater Latte Da - "Celebrating the Great American Musical."

The second performance is a family concert presented by The Okee Dokee Brothers at 6:30 p.m. Friday, July 16. The Okee Dokee okee dokee brosBrothers perform high-energy children's shows consisting of original material and songs that get the audience up dancing, singing and playing instruments. The Okee Dokee Brothers believe that music should be an energetic, interactive and fun experience for kids to enjoy with their parents.

The George Maurer Trio will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, July 22. The group is founded by jazz gmtriopianist and Saint John's graduate George Maurer, and features Jeff Engholm on bass and Muggsy Lauer on guitar and vocals. Visual artist Dan Mondloch will exhibit his water color paintings at this performance.

Monroe Crossing will close the 2010 Sunset Stages series at 7:30 p.m. monroeWednesday, July 28. Named in honor of Bill Monroe, "The Father of Bluegrass Music," Monroe Crossing dazzles audiences with an electrifying blend of classic bluegrass, bluegrass gospel and heartfelt originals. Joel Cherrico, a 2010 SJU graduate, will exhibit his hand-made pottery.
