Studio One: A Literary Magazine
Section II:
The purpose of Studio One is to give new and/or established writers a forum in which to present their works. Studio One is a literary and visual arts magazine produced by the College of St. Benedict and St. John’s University (CSB/SJU) and published every spring. The magazine’s focus is poetry, short fiction, essays, and all forms of reproducible visual art works. Submissions are open to all students on either St. John’s or St. Benedict’s campuses and to the general public regardless of regional, national, or international location.

Article II:
Section I:
Studio One is open to all CSB/SJU students who share a passion for visual and written arts.
Section II:
Voting members of Studio One must actively participate in the meetings throughout the entire submission selection process
Section III:
Members are free to come and go, but only if they participate throughout the entire submission selection process will they receive citation as a staff member in the publication. Those who fail to commit themselves to the whole process will not be acknowledged as part of the staff. If an active member conducts themselves inappropriately, the Editors-in-Chief will first discuss the matter together and confront the individual, giving them a warning. If conduct continues, Editors-in-Chief will take the issue to the rest of the staff and make a final decision as an entire group.

Only the Editors-in-Chief and Treasurer need to have previous experience with Studio One and know the process of selection and publication

Section III:
Editors-in-Chief: plans and presides over meetings, organizes and categorizes submissions, conduct communication with submitters via mail and email, communicate with publisher, helps layout the publication and distributes completed publication. Editors-in-Chief make all final decisions concerning publications. Because there are two Editors-in-Chief, all duties can be transferred to one or the other. Editors change yearly.
Treasurer: handles the finance of Studio One and conducts monthly audits for Co-Funding Board, prepares allocation requests
Poetry, Prose, Art Staff: Attend meetings, read assigned submissions and come ready to discuss potential publications
Layout Designer: Helps in formatting and organizing the publication
Section IV:
If a position becomes vacant, new officers will be selected from the general staff. Editors-in-Chief will assume all positions if staff is unable to fill vacant position
Section V:
Decisions to remove officers will be discussed and decided with the entire Studio One staff. Majority vote will remove officer. Club advisor will be included in these discussions and decisions
Section VI:
Appeals cannot be conducted, removal is final
Article IV:
Section I:
Officers are not elected, but come on a first volunteer basis. If there are multiple volunteers, executive decisions will be made by current Editors-in-Chief.
Article V:

Faculty Advisor—Betsy Johnson-Miller: The faculty advisor is to act as a liaison between the administration and the student staff of Studio One. Additionally, the advisor is to provide the staff with relevant or helpful information in relation to the publication of Studio One.

Studio One will apply for Co-Funding Board recognition and funding and will follow all regulations stated by the Co-Funding Board.

The Studio One admits students without regard to their race, religion, color, sex, age, sexual orientation or national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and other activities, generally accorded or made available to members of the organization.
Article XI:
The Studio One considers hazing to be a degrading and destructive activity which is inconsistent with the standards of this student organization. The Studio One recognizes the dignity of every person and opposes all forms of hazing.
