How We Work Together
The College of Saint Benedict (CSB) and Saint John’s University (SJU) share a one-of-a-kind partnership that began over 60 years ago and is stronger and more connected today than ever. When you enroll at CSB or SJU, you become part of a close-knit community that fosters friendships and contacts for a lifetime.
Together, we offer the opportunities, course selection and extensive curriculum of a large university while retaining the small classes and personal attention you’d expect from a top liberal arts college.
Here’s how it works:
Students travel between the two campuses on the LINK, a free shuttle that runs continually during class times and on an easy-to-remember schedule during the evenings and weekends. It’s a short 10-minute commute between both campuses. Students can get in some extra studying or relax and enjoy the gorgeous scenery we’re famous for.
Look around at the attendance of any campus athletic event, concert, speaker, classroom or mass and you’ll see for yourself that the CSB+SJU experience is a co-ed experience.
Students take classes on both campuses. In fact, CSB and SJU share one common curriculum. Classes are co-ed and graduation requirements are the same for both schools. Expect your classes to have a similar ratio of women to men as other colleges.
Women live at CSB and men live at SJU. Our visiting hours are similar to other colleges — with residence halls open until midnight on weeknights and 2 a.m. on weekends. The Residential Life programs at CSB and SJU are designed for the holistic development of women and men, with a specific focus on leadership opportunities. Plus, with the opportunity to live on campus all four years, it’s an experience that goes well beyond a dorm room.

Students have total access to the facilities on both campuses: dining centers, athletic complexes, coffee shops, libraries, performing arts centers, science labs, hiking trails, lakes and more.
