Emmaus Hall - Chapel Renovation

Opening hearts

Emmaus Hall exists for a greater purpose. Liturgy shapes the life, teaching, and scholarship of Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary and is historically one of our most significant contributions to the life of the Church - Catholic and otherwise. We believe that community, liturgy, and study are central to our life at the School of Theology and Seminary and one of many things that set us apart from other schools. Our Benedictine roots keep us centered in Christ while innovation and renovations help open eyes, minds, and hearts to ministerial possibilities.

Our chapel, our center for experiencing liturgy, was constructed in the 1950s when the building was built for the Seminary, by nature an inward and isolated space. Having been used for over 70 years, and still today, its wear shows this space has been well used and testifies the need for repair and refurbishing to connect with the greater community. This holy and important place is the heart and soul of the School.
