Deposits and Refunds
New students who receive Invitations of Admission, make a non-refundable payment of $300. This payment is credited to the first semester charges and also reserves housing accommodations on campus on a space available basis.
International Students who receive Invitations of Admission, make a non-refundable payment of $500. This payment is credited to the first semester chargs and also reserves housing accommodations on campus on a space available basis.
Saint John's University Undergraduate Refund Policy
Students who withdraw or have an approved leave of absence from the institution will be refunded as follows:
Tuition and Fees
The Full-time tuition rate will be charged for students who are registered for 12 to 18 credits.
Students who fall below 12 credits will be charged at the per credit rate.
100% refund for students who withdraw before the first day of the semester, or before any block/course begins. 95% refund of the first block charges if withdrawing in the first 3 days.
After the first three days of the first block:
70% refund until the end of the permanent drop period for the course.
No refund for any course completed or attended after the permanent drop period.

Example A, a student who withdraws after the third day in the first block, but before the 6th day, Tuition would be refunded 70%.
Example B, a student who withdraws after the permanent drop period of the second block, Tuition would be reduced from the full time 12 to 18 credit rate to the part time credit level of the courses begun. Typically, 8 credits.
Room and Board
100% refund for students who withdraw before the first day of the semester.
75% refund for withdraw in the first block.
50% refund for withdrawal in the second block.
No refund after the second block ends.
Students who are dismissed/suspended or take one block off are not entitled to Tuition, Fees, Room, and Board refunds. The date used to calculate the refund will be: in the case of official withdrawal, the date of withdrawal; in the case of unofficial withdrawal, the drop-out date which can be documented, but not more than 30 days prior to the current date.
School of Theology Refund Policy
Refunds of tuition, and fees are made to any student who formally withdraws.
Students withdrawing before the first day of classes will be granted 100% credit
- 90% -- Through the 5th day of classes
- 80% -- From the 6th through the 10th day of classes
- 70% -- From the 11th through the 15th day of classes
- 60% -- From the 16th through the 20th day of classes
- 50% -- From the 21st through the 25th day of classes
- 40% -- From the 26th through the 30th day of classes
If a student withdraws after the 30th day of classes, there is no refund.
