7:15 p.m.

Dear SJU and CSB Community Members, 
 
The Stearns County Sheriff's Office has confirmed with SJU that the suspect was arrested around 6:15 p.m. on the Saint John’s campus behind the Prep School.
 
This is a good ending to a long day on campus. Thanks again for your patience and cooperation throughout the day.

Dear SJU and CSB Community Members,

Thank you for your patience throughout the day. We know we asked a lot of you today.

All buildings have been searched at Saint John’s and law enforcement has indicated that individuals may leave their offices and go home. Make sure that you lock and secure your door. Check your car before entering vehicle.

Saint John’s students may move around campus to get food, but please stay in your residence halls this evening. CSB students should stay at CSB.

The individual which law enforcement is searching for has not been apprehended. If you have any information, please call 911.

There will be a small law enforcement presence on campus this evening. Buildings will remain locked. 

Thursday evening classes will be remote/online.

A LINK bus will leave CSB for SJU at 7:00pm. A LINK bus will leave SJU for CSB at 7:15pm

We will continue to provide updates as they become available.

2:30 p.m.

Law Enforcement will be going into all SJU buildings and decide when each building is safe for individuals to leave their rooms and offices. Please comply with the directives of Law Enforcement.

1:20 p.m.

Latest update from law enforcement: the suspect is still at large on the Saint John’s campus. The search perimeter is being expanded and other law enforcement agencies are assisting. Law enforcement is still requesting everyone at SJU to keep all doors locked and stay inside.

11:45 a.m.

All classes this afternoon will be remote/on-line. Everyone at Saint John’s should stay inside with doors locked as previously instructed.

11:20 a.m.

LINK BUS UPDATE. All LINK busing is suspended until the situation at SJU is resolved.

11 a.m.

URGENT MESSAGE: As morning classes end, everyone at SJU should remain in their classroom and buildings.   
 

10:40 a.m.

Law Enforcement is requesting everyone at SJU to lock all doors and stay inside.

10:30 a.m.

Update from Stearns County Sheriff's Office: Law enforcement continues to search for a suspect who earlier this morning assaulted a State Trooper during a traffic stop. The suspect fled on foot after a vehicle pursuit on I-94 near St. John’s University. At this time, it is not believed the general public is in danger. Eastbound I-94 is currently down to one lane of traffic in the area.

Continue to stay away from the SJU woods

8:40 a.m.

Law Enforcement is searching for a suspect who is believed to have entered the east side of the woods at SJU. Stay out of the woods at SJU, especially the East side by the Prep School and the Sugar Shack.
