Lifeguarding In-Class Full Certification ($200)

The Life-guarding course teaches participants the knowledge and skills needed to prevent and respond to aquatic emergencies in a pool environment. The course content and activities prepare participants to recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies and prevent drowning and injuries. Upon successful completion (passing skill tests and written tests), participants will receive the American Red Cross certificate Life-guarding/First Aid/CPR/AED, recognized as valid for two years. This is the certificate needed to seek employment as a lifeguard at most facilities utilizing Red Cross lifeguards.

  • This course is for those taking training for the first time or those whose certifications have expired. The only prerequisites are age and the pre-course swimming skills test.
  • This course is taught with all sessions being in person. Participants will partake in classroom work as well as pool skill sessions.

 

Lifeguarding In-Class Recertification ($100)

  • This course is for people already holding lifeguarding certification who need to renew their certification. In addition to the age prerequisite and pre-course swimming skills test, participants must show a certificate (same type of certification that they will earn in the review course) that is still current as of the first day of the review course.
  • This course is taught will all sessions being in person. Participants will partake in classroom work as well as pool skill sessions.
